America’s Music Cities
Alessandra Conti, Celebrity Matchmaker at Matchmakers In The City, is responsible for setting up the who’s who of Beverly Hills with their perfect romantic matches and helping them plan dream dates. We spoke with Conti to get her best recommendations for how to make the most of a holiday in Los Angeles for travellers who are currently single, want romance with a partner, or need to steal time for a date while travelling with children.
Conti: As a personal Matchmaker based in Beverly Hills, I am happy to confirm that Beverly Hills is one of the most romantic places in the world; especially for travelers who enjoy the finest things in life! Beverly Hills is known for being bold and can get a reputation for being a bit "bougie," but with that reputation comes its perks... namely having some of the most romantic date spots in Los Angeles. We have planned thousands of dates over the past six years for our Clients at Matchmakers In The City, and I'm happy to give you an insiders look into the top locations in Beverly Hills for a night of romance:
The Vampire Lounge and Tasting Room is one of my favorite under-the-radar spots to send my Bachelors and Bachelorettes for a night of Beverly Hills romance. Situated on South Santa Monica Boulevard right across the street from the Peninsula Hotel, it is a small wine lounge with a Vampire theme. It is an intimate space with seductive lighting, and they even have a chess board to play chess as you wine taste!
The Roof Garden is absolutely stunning, and the beauty of living in Beverly Hills is that it is beautiful weather 365 days of the years! When you are making reservations, be sure to request a cabana for the evening to really impress your date.
Il Forno Caldo is a quaint little Italian restaurant in the heart of The Golden Triangle in Beverly Hills. Right next to one of our Matchmakers In The City offices, I have been passing this restaurant for years, and finally went in a few years ago, and have never stopped! It is the perfect, unassuming restaurant with incredible, authentic Italian food, and a fantastic atmosphere.
Viviane Restaurant at the Avalon Hotel is a total throwback to 1970s Beverly Hills; with outdoor seating circling the pool, a night at The Avalon will make you feel like old Hollywood royalty. It is perfect for a candle-lit, poolside evening with your +1.
Conti: If you really want to pull out all of the stops for a date night in Los Angeles, Yamashiro is a must-see restaurant. Perched right atop the Hollywood Hills, Yamashiro feels like an Asian-inspired mansion with gardens and a gorgeous koi pond turned into a gorgeous restaurant. With some of the best views of the city, planning an evening at Yamashiro shows your date that you have impeccable taste and are totally in the know!
If your date loves rubbing elbows with celebrities and the glitterati of Los Angeles, the restaurant at Chateau Marmont is the place to be. Photos are not technically allowed, so you will be immersed in a stunning setting, romantic ambiance… and the best bolognese in the city.
Conti: Although a notoriously tough dating scene, LA is home to thousands of attractive and successful singles; some who you may even watch regularly on your TV! Each area in LA has a totally different vibe and attracts a specific type of man or woman.
Mama Shelter Rooftop in Hollywood, Pour Vous in Hollywood, and Good Times at Davey Waynes will give you a young-Hollywood crowd, while Bungalow in Santa Monica will give you more of a beachy, preppy crowd. If you are looking for a more upscale experience, Beverly Hills is the place to be. Wally's wine bar in Beverly Hills is filled with CEO's and Real Housewives alike, and you can Uber down the street to Ocean Prime where there is a gorgeous in-door-out-door atmosphere enhanced by live music every Friday night.
Conti: Santa Monica is a very family friendly date location that I highly recommend for parents and family trips! Buca Di Beppo is a ton of fun for a variety of ages, has big tables, and a very family friendly atmosphere (be sure to check out the Pope's table!). After having great Italian food at Buca, you can walk over to Santa Monica Pier, and let the kids run around while you and your S.O. check out the ferris wheel boasting gorgeous ocean and city views for a little bit of romance.
