The views from Kangaroo Island are absolutely second-to-none, so why not do something a little different and embark on a trek to explore all of the island’s wonders.

Located off the coast of South Australia, Kangaroo Island is one of Australia’s hidden gems. The beautiful destination is encouraging people to undertake an ‘active holiday’ by exploring the island along the Kangaroo Island Wilderness Trail. This 61km, five-day hike requires a reasonable level of fitness, as you’ll be walking between seven to 14 km per day. Though it may be challenging, the views and the experience will definitely be worth it. If you’re lucky, you’ll also see an array of wildlife on your hike, from kangaroos, echidnas, wallabies, goannas and possums to bandicoots, bats, frogs, platypuses and 271 species of birds. You also might even see seals, dolphins and whales off the shore.
