Hawaii Tourism is seeking an ‘Aloha Apprentice’ to bring the Spirit of Aloha to Australia - and you could be the perfect fit for the job!
A perfect applicant for the Aloha Apprentice is kind and adventurous, someone who already embodies the beautiful spirit of Aloha.
“Aloha is a concept of altruism, unity and kindness that is fundamental to the Hawaiian culture,” explains Giselle Radulovic, Hawaii Tourism Oceania’s Country Manager Australia.
The application asks candidates to explain why they make the perfect Aloha Apprentice. The chosen winner will be granted $1,000 to fly to Hawaii for a four-day Aloha immersion with private ukelele lesson with Honoka and Azita, two Hawaiian music icons; sunrise yoga; Hi’uwai Ocean Healing ceremony; a surf lesson with Ted Bush, an original Waikiki beach boy; a hiking excursion at Hawaii Volcanoes National Park; Hawaii Volcano helicopter tour; and a lesson in how to make a lei and how to give a proper lei greeting.
Radulovic notes that “the Hawaiian Lei is a physical symbol of Aloha, which is why the lei greeting is so significant.” Upon return to Australia on 25 May, the Aloha Apprentice will help the Hawaii Tourism Oceania team in giving a lei greeting to 500 commuters in Australia.
Applications are due 10 May 2018. If you think that you are a perfect candidate, apply now via Airtasker.
