EDR Sydney Harbour Arrival 1 1

The Explorer Dream - an award-winning ship in the Dream Cruises fleet - has created its own warm and welcoming culture at sea by excelling in five key areas: dining options, entertainment, hospitality, spa, and The Palace. Let’s explore each one!

1. Unmatched dining options

Explorer Dream combines flavours from the east and west, celebrating its roots, its guests, and where it sails. The Lido & Lido Grill perfectly showcase the marriage between east and west: take breakfast, when you can visit the custom-serve congee station or have pastries and morning tea. Later in the day in other restaurants around the ship, guests can take their pick between 24-hour hawker-style food at Blue Lagoon (pictured below) or freshly-baked pizzas at The Lido. Those with a sweet tooth will be able to get a fix with sweets from around the world with a visit to the Gelateria or Matcha Ice.

2. World-class entertainment

If there is one misconception about a cruise, it’s that a guest could get bored. Quite frankly, that is impossible onboard this ship! There are no formal evenings like there are with other cruises - there is just the freedom to relax and play as guests please! Game afficionados can take their gameplay to the next level at the high-tech Esc Experience Lab. Put on a VR headset and immerse themselves in another world to play single or multi-player games. Guests can stay here in the ‘real world’ can enjoy a night at the impressive Zodiac Theatre to take in Broadway-style performances of dance, drama, acrobatics, music, or magic.

3. The friendliest hospitality

No matter who you talk to, the first thing that comes out of an Explorer Dream guest’s mouth is “everyone was so friendly!” This detail is not lost on us. Hospitality is the very basis for Dream Cruises’s culture at sea. As a mid-size ship with a passenger-to-crew ratio of 1:1.7, there is incredible attention on each guest as an individual - including the personal Butler service in The Palace, but we’ll discuss that later!

4. Ultimate relaxation at Crystal Life Spa

The Spa specialises in beauty and wellness as a whole, soothing guests from head to toe, inside and out. Quite like the cuisine onboard, there is a mix of eastern and western specialty treatments available. Expert Asian Therapists give traditional therapies such as Chinese acupuncture and the ship’s signature spa treatment, Chinese foot reflexology. Guests who prefer western treatments like, a hot stone or Swedish massage therapies, will find The Spa to be their haven. There’s even the first Himalaya salt stone massage at sea, so guests can find a bit of a brag factor at sea before they reach their destination.

5. Paradise at sea: The Palace

As we hinted earlier, The Palace is absolute height of luxury. This is a ship-within-a-ship. This unparalleled suite includes top-shelf amenities: 24-hour Butler service, Dream Beds, privileged dining offerings, the premium beverage package, toiletries from fashion house Etro, and so much more. By now, it should be clear that the entire ship emphasises the most relaxing holiday at sea with its extraordinary dining options, entertainment selection, warm hospitality, and spa treatments. The Palace, however, elevates all of these experiences to heights unexplored by any other ship.
