From 22 September to 31 October 2019, Sydney's luxurious Pier One Sydney Harbour will be transformed into the iconic Santa Monica pier.
The immersive pop-up celebrates the best of SoCal style with a series of programs, including:
Sydneysiders and Santa Monicans share a passion for wellness. Each Wednesday morning during the pop-up, free waterfront Yoga and Pilates sessionswill be offered on the pier so visitors can enjoy a moment of mindfulness before beginning their day.
Friday Twilight on the Pier
In a special Sydney-style tribute to the immensely popular Santa Monica seasonal event, Twilight on the Pier will be open for sundowner specials every Friday from 4pm, offering SoCal cocktails, Santa Monica inspired cuisine and live music.
ROGA (run + yoga) is a fitness favourite and tradition enjoyed by Santa Monica locals. In partnership with lululemon, ROGA will start with a 2.5km jog or run from Luna Park to Santa Monica at Pier One. On arrival participants will have their peace of mind restored by some of lululemon's top yoga instructors as they soak up the stunning harbor views. This is a free event, so those who wish to participate in the challenge are encouraged to secure their spot in advance by booking online.
Sunday Farmers Markets
Santa Monica's food scene is synonymous with farm-to-plate freshness with thanks to their weekly farmers markets. Santa Monica at Pier One in partnership with Visit California will bring three bespoke certified organic mini-farmers markets to the pier.
Santa Monica X Gantry Chefs Tables
The Gantry restaurant at Pier One will be hosting exclusive dining experiences with three of Santa Monica’s most highly acclaimed Chefs. Only on Friday 27 and Saturday 28 September, renowned Santa Monica-based Chefs Josiah Citrin of Mélisse and Raphael Lunetta of Lunetta will collaborate with The Gantry’s Head Chef Thom Gorringe to showcase the best of local NSW seasonal produce in a bespoke menu. The mouthwatering coastal-inspired menu will draw upon the hyper-seasonal culinary style that each chef brings to the table.
Chef Govind Armstrong of The Lobster will also partner with Chef Gorringe for seafood themed BBQ on the pier, with guests dining al fresco in the Gantry Garden and Marquee. This will be a one-off event on Wednesday 16 October, with a menu celebrating the best of Australian seafood and Chef Govind’s Costa Rican influence.
