    Day 1 Arrive Frankfurt (Offenbach)      
    Embrace old-world charm and modern glitz and glamour in the vibrant city of Frankfurt. Meet your Travel Director for an orientation of the medieval Römerplatz and dynamic financial district. Later, we join our fellow travellers for a memorable Welcome Reception.
    Day 2 Frankfurt (Offenbach) ▶ Rhine Cruise ▶ Cologne d    
    The legend of Lorelei kickstarts our morning as we board a leisurely cruise along the mighty Rhine past fairy-tale castles and vineyard-clad hills. We stop at lunch to enjoy an unforgettable Be My Guest banquet and hear tales of nights and feuding lords and ladies in a 13th century castle perched high above the Rhine valley. Continuing to the cultural capital of Rhineland, we view the spectacular Gothic spires of the Cologne Cathedral. Spend the rest of the evening exploring the city’s great artistic treasures, historic town squares and the city’s history as the site where Eau de Cologne was first created.
    Day 3 Cologne ▶ High Speed Train ▶ Berlin Sightseeing (2 Nights)  
    This morning we board a high-speed train to historic Berlin and join a Local Specialist to see the imposing Brandenburg Gate, Unter den Linden Boulevard and the Reichstag Building with its famous glass dome. We’ll see the Tiergarten and trendy Kurfürstendamm, before spending the rest of the day at leisure.
    Day 4 Berlin Sightseeing      
    Venture up one of the icons of a united Berlin and Germany for a Cultural Insight experience up the Berlin TV Tower offering spectacular 360° views of the city. Enjoy some free time this afternoon to explore the city on your terms. See the remnants of the Berlin Wall, visit the infamous Checkpoint Charlie or enjoy an Optional Experience to the District of Potsdam, the former Prussian royal seat, for sightseeing and an unforgettable dinner.
    Day 5 Berlin ▶ Würzburg ▶ Rothenburg      
    Admire art and architecture in beautiful Würzburg where you will see the Prince-Bishops’ residence and Marienburg Fortress, before arriving in the charming cobblestone streets of Rothenburg where we will dine tonight in our hotel.
    Day 6 Rothenburg ▶ Munich (2 Nights)      
    This morning we enjoy an orientation walk through the beautiful medieval centre of Rothenburg, seemingly frozen in time and encircled by a fortified town wall that remains intact after centuries. Continuing south through picture-perfect landscapes of Bavaria, we arrive in Munich just a few hours later and see the Olympic Stadium which hosted the Summer Olympics in 1972, before arriving at our hotel.
    Day 7 Munich Orientation      
    Meander through the heart of Munich this morning, visiting its charming Marienplatz with both its new and old City Halls built on its periphery. See the magical Glockenspiel that delights visitors throughout the day with the enactment of 16th century tales. Spend the rest of the day on your terms exploring the city’s Baroque palaces and vibrant markets, or embrace the Bavarian region’s rich beer brewing heritage at Hofbräuhaus am Platzl, built in the 16th century.
    Day 8 Munich ▶ Neuschwanstein ▶ Oberammergau    
    Indulge in a world of fantasy and fables, journeying to the fairy-tale Neuschwanstein Castle, built as a retreat for King Ludwig II to retire from public life. Travelling through the dark forests of Bavaria, we arrive in Oberammergau and see where the Passion Play has been performed every decade since 1634 when Europe was gripped by plague. This evening we dine at our hotel.
    Day 9 Oberammergau ▶ Innsbruck Orientation    
    We drive across the Austrian border and to Tyrol, arriving in its capital where we will embark on a short orientation that includes views of the Wilten Basilica, Hofburg Palace and the ornate Golden Roof built to commemorate the wedding of Emperor Maximilian I. Consider joining a traditional dinner and Tyrolean folklore show this evening.
    Day 10 Innsbruck ▶ Salzburg Sightseeing
    Join a Local Specialist in Salzburg for a fascinating walking tour of a city that featured in ‘The Sound of Music’ during which you will have an opportunity to view Mozart’s birthplace and family house in the picturesque Getreidegasse, and the Domplatz dominated by Salzburg Cathedral.     Day 11 Salzburg ▶ Dürnstein ▶ Vienna (2 Nights)    
    Breathtaking landscapes provide a beautiful backdrop for our scenic drive past Lake Mondsee to the UNESCO-listed Wachau Valley. Sloping vineyards line the Danube from Melk Abbey to Dürnstein, where Richard the Lionheart was held prisoner and subsequently found by Blondel, his faithful minstrel. This afternoon we arrive in the Imperial capital of Vienna where we have the evening at leisure to enjoy the sounds of the City of Music or perhaps consider an evening of Viennese classical music.
    Day 12 Vienna Sightseeing      
    Explore the imperial splendour of Vienna at the exquisite Hofburg Palace - one of the highlights of your guided sightseeing tour of Vienna with a Local Specialist, which will also include views of the grand State Opera House and Ringstrasse. Admire the ornate colourful roof of St. Stephen’s Cathedral, one of the city’s most beloved icons, before spending the afternoon at leisure. Tonight join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a Farewell Dinner.
    Day 13 Depart Vienna      
    We bid farewell to your companions at the end of a wonderful holiday. Airport transfers are available. Conditions apply.

    Prices are per person and represent adult fares including any applicable taxes and surcharges.


    The offer is based on fares to and from the nearest European city to the trip’s start and end point. Other destinations are available, however surcharges may apply. Airfares are valid for travel in economy class to Europe departing from ADL/BNE/CNS/CBR/MEL/PER/SYD for travel between 01 Mar and 30 Nov 2018.


    A fee of $500 per person will apply to air bookings where any flight sector is outside of the airlines system date range. A surcharge will apply if the necessary booking class is not available and a higher booking class is required. One stopover on the entire journey is permitted at an additional cost.


    The air carriers selected are at the discretion of Trafalgar based on available fare classes at the time of booking and must be purchased in conjunction with one of the specified Trafalgar departures.


    Carriers may have differing permitted origins in Australia and travel periods. The airfare cannot be sold in isolation and is subject to availability. Trafalgar reserves the right to correct errors or omissions and to change any and all fares, fees and surcharges at any time.


    After ticket issuance, fees for date changes and 100% cancellation fees (including air taxes and fuel) will apply. Fly from $699 is not combinable with the Early Payment Discount.

    Not all packages are refundable. If you choose to cancel this package after you have booked, a cancellation fee of $250 applies, on top of any fees the suppliers (airline, hotel etc) charge. Price quoted is per person based on two people sharing a room.
